Here we will tell the story of the beginnings of our church and how we became what we are today.

Organization Day 12/04

New Beginnings Bible Church began August 22, 2004 when approximately 25 people met for prayer in Park Meadow’s Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Waxahachie, Texas one Sunday afternoon.  After much prayer they could sense God calling them to start a church.

          And so it began............And the Lord blessed the church!

 

The next Sunday, August 29, 2004 they met in Green’s Funeral Home Chapel where there were 40 present.  We moved on to hold services in the Ferris Intermediate school cafeteria.  September 05, 2004 was our first service there. The invitation was opened up for membership for the first time and 46 people came forward for charter membership with the church.  Dr. Bobby Adams was called to be the full-time Pastor, Joanne Shafer and Virginia Cleveland as the Treasurer, and Elayne Blakley voted to be the church clerk.  Wanda Lampier was voted as the pianist.

          And the Lord blessed the church! 

         

We had Fellowship twice each month on Sunday evenings where we met in Bea’s café on the square in Ferris where a great time of Christian fellowship was enjoyed by all.  This is where we had our first Thanksgiving Banquet with 83 present.

          And the Lord blessed the church!

 

And the church grew...December 26, 2004 we extended our charter membership until January 31, 2005.  At the end of that month there were 82 members.  Our church was organized December 05, 2004 with Dr. Gary Coleman, pastor, Lavon Drive Baptist Church, Garland, Texas extended an arm for the church to organize and he delivered the message.  The Office of the Secretary of State issued New Beginnings Bible Church an Articles of Incorporation whereby formed as a non-profit corporation.

          And the Lord blessed the church!

 

And the church grew......January 09, 2005 we voted to rent the building at 507 S. Main, Ferris, Texas with a contract of (1) year.  Our move in date is set for February 27, 2005 which will be the 2nd phase of the church.

          And the Lord blessed the church!

 

And the church grew...February 06, 2005 we had two more to join our fellowship. February 27, 2005 we moved to 507 S. Main Street, Ferris, Texas, the new place where we will worship until a new Worship Center is built.  Much work went into this building preparing it for us to use.  The inside & outside has been refurbished. New carpet is on the floor through-out the building. The chairs are comfortable and beautiful.  We have state of the art sound equipment which has been installed.  New drums & piano have been purchased.  Room dividers are up for the Sunday school area as well as new chairs and tables.  A church family donated a new Projector and New Microphones and DVD Player have been purchased.  Two new church signs have been installed outside which light up in the evening.

          And the Lord blessed the church!

 

And the church grew...February 2005, John Cantu was voted to be our Minister of Music.  John attends college in Waxahachie and is from New Mexico where his dad is a pastor.

          And the Lord blessed our church!

 

And the church grew...We had 130 present for our first Easter service.  Chuck & Debbie Arnold from Lancaster delivered special music along with our own Barbara Williams.

          And the Lord blessed the church!

 

Instead of deacons, our church has Men’s Meeting before we have business meetings.  One of our college students, Aaron Lynch, surrendered to the ministry and will deliver his first message May 15, 2005. He is 21 years of age and attends Navarro College in Corsicana working on a degree in Chiropractor.  

 

We have been very honored to haveNita Pack to serve as our Children's Minister since the beginning of the church. She has devoted extensive time, love, and energy to the children.  Nita has been a great asset to New Beginnings Bible Church.  We are very blessed to have her on staff. 

 

And the church grew...We had our first “Friend Day” April 24 with 216 present.  Our church petitioned to become a member of the National Baptist Missionary of America in April in Joplin, MO and was accepted unanimously with no opposition.

          And the Lord blessed the church!

 

The church voted to call Eric Hall, Minister of Youth.  Eric & Lori live in Midlothian with their three year old daughter, Faith.  Lori works for the City of Midlothian.

 

Our special guest for Mother’s day, 2005 was Michael Bridges.  We had 159 present.

          And the Lord blessed the church!

   

Father's Day was June 19, 2005 and our guests singers were Judy DeRamus and Sheila Lewis from Broken Bow, OK.  They are both recording artist for Nashville Gospel Records. 

 

And the church grew....The first Anniversary of the church was August 28, 2005.  We had a blessed day in the Lord. The Cannan Heir's Quartet came to deliver the special music and Brother Jerry Burnaman from the BMA Missions of Texas was our guest speaker.  We had 245 present and (4) accepted the Lord that day.  After the services we had a catered lunch waiting for us.

          And the Lord blessed the church!

 

The church recently purchased a church van and trailer for the

Youth and Bus Ministry.  Property has been purchased @

1970 FM 983, Ferris, Texas and a building 100X170 has also been purchased.

          And the Lord blessed the church!

 

September 18, 2005 "Friends by Grace" from Midlothian, Texas will be our guest singers for the Morning Worship Service.

 

And the church grew...As of 11-13-05 our membership stands at 162.

          And the Lord blessed the church!

 

The church petitioned the Ellis-Hill Association, National BMA of America and BMA of Texas and was granted membership to all three associations during the year 2005.

 

October 23, 2005 we were blessed when Jim Barbas joined the church to become our Percussionist.  He was a friend to many of us and we are truly blessed to have him as a member.

 

Christmas day we only had morning worship where we had a beautiful candlelight service which was well attended and then everyone when their separate ways to enjoy Christmas as planned.  The evening service was cancelled.

 

January 14th about 30 men and women met for breakfast on the new property and began cleaning off the acreage.  It was a big task but a job well done. It really looks nice.

 

We recently went to Dallas to “Feed My Sheep” with the Salvation Army.  We had a glorious time witnessing to them.  We have been twice but have been hindered from attending because of the Dallas City ruling of the homeless being on the streets.

 

January 22, 2006, “The Texas Girls” came and ministered to us in song.  They are three beautiful ladies from Midlothian.  Our hearts were blessed and we had 107 present and two united with the church by letter.

 

February 05, 2006 was a blessed day.  We had 139 present and five accepted Christ as their Savior.  We all went out to the new property for the Ground Breaking Service

immediately following the morning service.   Then at 5: PM we had our Super Bowl Party.  What a blessing it was.  We had plenty of delicious food, games being played over the building, some watching the game projected off the wall, and good Christian fellowship.  Brother Bobby gave a short devotion at Half-time and two more accepted the Lord.  That made seven for the day.  God is God, all the time!

 

The ladies Fellowship met February 06, 2006 with 34 present.  A wonderful spiritual time was enjoyed by all who attended.  Many hearts were broken as the ladies shared their favorite scripture and explained what the scripture meant to them. It was such a joy to be in the presence of these beautiful ladies and girls who love the Lord and have a desire to serve Him.

 

Part of the foundation has been done on the new property at 1970 FM 983, Ferris, Texas for our new Worship Center Facilities.  We expect the rest to be completed this week if the weather permits.  The building is due to arrive March 31st and the Masters Builders will be here May 1st to donate their time of labor of love with us.

 

February 26, 2006 we all went over to the Lancaster recreational Center where 12 members were baptized with a great crowd of witnesses. 

 

March 06, 2006 the Ladies Fellowship held their monthly meeting.  Ms. Lillie (Pastor’s wife) shared her “Life Story” with the group.

 

Our Youth will be attending Acquire the Fire in Dallas at Reunion Arena March 31-April.

 

We have had some move out of the community and transferred their letter so our membership now stands at 240.

 

July 02, 2006 we held our first Baptismal Service here in the new Worship Center. Around 10 were baptized.  We stayed out here for a 4th of July Picnic and we all had a glorious time in the Lord knowing that soon we would be here all time to worship.  And so here we are!

 

Now all the hard work is complete on the new property at 1970 FM 983, Ferris, Texas and we rejoice today with family & friends in our new Worship Center Facilities.   This is phase 3 of New beginnings Bible Church and the membership to date is 247.

 

We moved into our New Worship Facilities today, October 19, 2006 at 1970 FM 983, Ferris, Texas and had Ribbon Cutting today with dignitaries present:  Marietta Allen, Ferris Main Street Director, Jerry Burnaman, Executive Director, BMA of Texas, Jerry Fulton, Director of Baptist Progress, BMA of Texas, and Nanette Paghi, Loan Director of Citizens National Bank, Red Oak, Texas. We were honored with310 present and eleven additions to the church during the day.

 

We went back to the old facilities for the last time for our annual Fall Festival.  It was a wonderful time with the children and the young at heart.

 

Sunday, November 19, 2006 we observed Thanksgiving in the New Fellowship Hall with a Banquet at 6: PM.

 

The first wedding was held in the new church December 16, 2006 for Martin Torres and Delores Nieto. The ladies honored Delores with a Bridal Shower during the Ladies Monthly Fellowship and the men honored Martin with a surprise bachelor party during the month.

 

Our pastor underwent major back surgery September 14 and was away from the pulpit a couple weeks. 

 

After moving into the new facilities, we had our first baptismal service today, November 5, 2006 during the evening service.

 

December 24, 2006 we had a beautiful Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 10: AM.  Brother Bobby told the Christmas Story, Jim Pool and Barbara Williams presented the special music and Kenneth Dunlap had a special Christmas reading. “O Holy Night” was sung by CD by the late Marylynn Gist.

 

To date we have lost four precious members who have gone on to Heaven:  Marylynn Gist, Frances Brown, Kenneth Wood, and Christi Smith.  Our membership is 302.

 

Don Piper, Author of “90 MINUTES IN HEAVEN” will be with us for four days beginning March 25-28.
